LSU Goalie vs BYU

After the Tigers had taken a 2-1 lead into the halftime locker room, freshman goalkeeper Mo Isom shocked everyone in attendance just seven minutes after the break as she drilled a 90-yard free kick into the BYU net to give the Tigers a two-goal lead.

I couldn't find any video of this play, maybe someone else can.

WHOA!!! That's awesome! I hope someone has video somewhere.

Just for comparison's sake, here's Yael Averbuch's goal off the kick-off. That's probably about 50-60 yards... can't imagine what a 90 yard one would look like.

Haha it takes a perfect storm to pull off something like that.... Usually a napping keeper and either a rocket shot, a floating rainmaker or some wicked elemental assistance... I mean I've pulled one off in indoor from about 60 but 50-60 yards is nothing compared to a 90 yard bomb...

The trick to embedding videos is you need to click the "Post Reply" button at the top of the thread instead of typing in the little quick reply field down at the bottom.

That pops up to a new screen, and then you click the little Film Strip icon along the top, somewhere near the middle.

Then you paste in the video link, and voila!

Well it was a super long goal but I doubt it was ninety yards. Look where the free kick is set...about 12 yards at least from the eighteen yard box. The maximum length for a field from end to end is 110 yards so subtract 28 from 110 so its more like a 70ish yard goal. Still it looks like the keeper was trying to create a play and it bounced over the keepers head instead of being played.

What a keeper's nightmare or dream, depending on which side you look.

Actually the max length is 120 yards... so it could have been 90 yards...
