Sure Is Slow In Here...

I feel like I'm playing in a cemetery around here. Guess it's just that time of year!

But in around 3 weeks the ladies will begin to report to August training camp. We'll probably hear a few more rumblings by then. And then when the students return, we're going to get some life in here real fast.

First game August 23rd. That's not all that far away from now...

I believe there are some of you who have been known to be desperate enough to go watch the pre-season practices. Just in case I reach the same point, does anyone know exactly when the practices begin, what time they are, and where

The first game is the 23rd. The NCAA allows 21 "practice Units" before that, and they must take 1 day off a week. That puts the first day around the 30th.

As to times, I haven't asked. Maybe someone on campus could find out. It changes a bit, too.

Well folks, come first game the Pilots will have one more fan at Merlo Field. My wife gave birth to our first child on Sunday July 13th, and he is sure to be in attendance opening weekend to learn all about UP Women's soccer

skipper = Pilots? Yeah, probably lame...).

How's Mom? This is tremendous news! Another Pilots Women's soccer fanatic! If I see a 6 week old baby at the Oregon game, I just might have to ask if it's "Little Skip" and the aleppiek family.

I'll keep this short, cause I can go on forever, as many of you well know...
But parenthood will change your outlook on life forever. You are no longer the center of your universe. "Little Skip" is!!! And if you waver at all on that, please be advised he will let you know who's numero uno, relentlessly and for a long time!!!

Best of luck to you and your new young family. I went bonkers over my two little ones, and now they're all grown up. But they're still my two little ones!!! I can tell my daughter that, but my son is too macho and would probably smack me!

Oh, and aleppiek. Just love your signature line. That quote from Shaq, that's just hilarious. I laughed real hard when I first saw that.

BTW - Do you know if he did did that on purpose or accidentily?

From what I know it was off the cuff, but with Shaq it was undoubtedly planned. Mom is good, baby was 6 weeks early, he was actually due about the time of the UCLA and USC weekend. So Mom and I were joking that he just wanted to make sure he was ready in time.

Geez- he will bleed purple... and love soccer, I can feel it.
