u17 update

Cloee played the whole game, as usual. Courtney Verloo is sounding very dangerous and this, according to the US coach, was a very impressive Mexican team.

Kathryn (Kate) Bennett, from Bellevue WA, did not play in this match. The US is in the final on Sunday of this qualifying tournament.

Canada defeated Mexico for the last CONCACAF slot in the u17 world cup. They are probably practicing their New Zealand idioms as I write.

no details yet, just a score. It lloks like they will be in group "B" with Germany, Korea, and an African nation to be named.

The US-Costa Rica match is just getting under way. This one is just for seedings.

The US beat Costa Rica 4:1 in the finals. This puts them in Group C in the World Cup, grouped with Japan, France, and Paraguay.

Costa Rica will be grouped with Denmark, New Zealand, and Columbia in group A.
