Its official we play at Pacific in the collegeinsider.com tourney on Wednesday 18th.

The link has a list of the other games too. All the teams seem to be mid-major teams.

Well for their criteria was that they take first precedence for teams whose conferences have less than 50% participating in the NCAA or NIT tournaments... And with only 4 at larges from mid majors to the NCAAs... That pretty much only leaves teams from smaller conferences...

At any rate it's nice to see a tournament thinking of the little guys.

I would guess the winner of our game would play the winner of Idaho vs. Drake.

Hopefully we could get across that 20-win mark...

From the looks of their non-conference schedule (see my previous post above), it looks like they may be trying to showcase themselves for the WCC.

I can dig it. Are the La Salle folks on here too old to be taught economics by distinguished Pacific alumnus Mike Doran?

You would almost have to give this tournament a little bit more credibility compared to the CBI considering they are letting OSU host a section.

At least all the teams have winning records

Glad to see we will be playing in the West... lets start our habit of beating Pacific! Very Happy

I see on the Pacific web site that the game will be televised on Big West television; hopefully CSN NW will pick up the game?!

Anyone here going to be able to swing the game?

This isnt the most pretigious tournament, but I like that we will get post season experience on the road... and additional practice time, etc. Oh man, I would really like to see us get 20 wins... Exclamation

Wow, there are some good match-ups and very good teams in this tourney. Evansville is very good among others, and Pacific has a nice basketball history of its own. A good showing would definitely allow us to get into the mid-major top 25 rankings going into next season and help us to build up some momentum.

Cheaper than Vegas? You don't have to pay for drinks and you can get your room comped while you are there!

Its Official... Pilots @ Pacific 3/18/09 Empty Good luck Pilots vs UOP

Post by gaelhoopfreak Mon Mar 16, 2009 4:05 pm

Hey, nice going getting to the new tourney. Good luck, and wish us luck vs Wazzu.
IMO, we got jobbed bigtime from the Dance. 30 of 34 at large from the 6 BCS conferences.
Hate to say it, but its just going to get worse. Its going to make coaches like Bennett and Reveno move on
purely out of frustration.
I like when Dickie V stood up for us and asked Jay Bilas "do you think SMC would beat Arizona if they played "
And Bilas' answer was " Arizona would beat SMC ..... IN TEMPE " Then Dickie V says ..... "yea Jay, Pac 10 teams are afraid of losing in WCC cribs" Bilas then shut his mouth.

Freak

The game will be streamed online here:LINK.

It doesnt look like we will get it on TV. CSNNW will be busy airing a "Before they were Blazers" game and "classic rollerderby" instead... Rolling Eyes Sad
