New WCC hoops tourney format for 2013-2014

The Bracket will change slightly with the addition of Pacific: BRACKET LINK

The tourney will be 4 days (instead of the current 5), but the top 2 teams lose the byes into the semifinals.

I am glad they shortened up the # of days, but I understand frustration from the GU and SMC ranks; I believe that the higher seeds should earn every advantage in the tourney--they earned it throughout the season.

No word yet on if there will be a change of venue from The Orleans. (I hope not, I think it is a good set up, good size arena, and buckets of beer!)

I always thought the byes were too much of an advantage. I understand why they did it, but anybody but a 1 or 2 seed had very little chance.

This will draw more fans early in the tournament.

I suppose the bad part is we will have Zag fans the whole time.

But what happens when BYU goes east? Is there a 10th school waiting in the wings?

Seattle University still makes the most sense to me.
