USD at Pilots Thursday Jan 19 @ 6pm

Remember (up7587) this is a 6 o'clock game, and a difficult game to predict the outcome.

USD has a bunch of transfers who can really light it up, but they have bad nights too.  

#10, a St. John's transfer, is USD's second leading scorer, and last time out scored 24. #1, their leading scorer and a transfer from Denver, scored 21 in his last game.  And #50, a transfer from Oregon, is the third leading scorer and pulls down 10 rebounds per game.  

The question is, can UP keep USD from getting offensive rebounds and second chance points, and can UP's shooters get enough room to get off some uncontested shots?

Ehhhhhhh not really. USD won 13-5 on offensive rebounds and 18-7 on second chance points. But despite T-Rob's unusual free throw numbers tonight, the guys knew how to finish a game despite losing the 10 point lead. Glad Gorosito bounced back from that empty pass turnover near the end of the game to draw two of his own.

Pilots missed four layups and gave up two offensive rebounds in a four minute stretch where USD outscored them 15-2 to go from 10 down to up three. Pilots had to dig deep to stay in the game.

That inbounding sequence with 15 seconds to go after Gorosito drew the charge was sketchy. Lucky it worked out.

Love this team. Did T-Rob miss 3 or 4 free throw? Also hope they make better choices on who takes the ball out of bounds.

He missed 4 of 7. He only missed 16 all last year. Rest of the team made 13 of 14.
