Halftime @ Pepperdine, with the Waves up 3-1 on the Toreros, and out-shooting them 12-5.

Cal Poly and LMU are tied 0-0 at the half.

The WCC has a cool new Scoreboard page on their web site, gathering the various sources for live scores: LINK.

Looks like I mis-read the LMU score...

1-0 LMU in the 30th minute.

Good find; nice to have a scoreboard for sports like volleyball, tennis, X-C, rowing, soccer, baseball, women's basketball, etc. that are not generally or easily available from the national feeds. It's also nice that it's archived.......so you can check back through the season if you want.

Surprised the WCC hasn't added the new USF logo yet; the old one is tired looking (as is Santa Clara's).

(Oh, and the Waves beat San Diego 4-2)

My goodness... Stanford with 6 goals in the first 25 minutes of the 2nd half, they now lead SCU 6-1 in the 70th minute.

Can someone explain to me why Pepperdine and USD played each other so early in the season and it did not count as the WCC match? Other sports don't allow that.

Actually , it's not so uncommon. I have seen Basketball schools do that, and this isn't the first time soccer schools have done it. I think several of the newly reorganized conferences have some cases of this happening.

My guess is they got a hole in their schedules just like UP did with the conference reorganization and decided to fill it.

I think the Gonzaga score is backwards.

Oregon and Oregon State have done it in baseball several times.

Now that I think some more, our baseball team may have had a nonconference series with Gonzaga not too long ago. Like Geezer alluded to, scheduling is tricky sometimes, especially with so few baseball teams in the Northwest.

Hmmm, the WCC site shows S Dakota winning 3-1, the GU site says GU won, by the same score... I will trust the GU site, since they hosted...

Yea, I think you are correct. Oh well, so much for my excitement with the new WCC Scoreboard.....if it's not going to be accurate, why BE at all!

The scores ordinarily get posted there literally within minutes of when games are completed. All of today's scores already are posted. Explore the website's many features while you're there. It's a great information resource.

I like it, but I couldn't get the website to take me to a men's soccer scoreboard. Any hints, or am I the only one who likes the UP men's games as much as the women's?

That's because the NC Soccer website is dedicated to women's soccer. I like men's games too and there must be some resources out there.

There is also the issue that NCAA Men's soccer hasn't started yet...

Also of note was Notre Dame losing to Wisconsin in Madison, 1-0. The Irish had a definite edge in the stats, except for the one that matters.

How can we keep our RPI up if our future opponents keep losing?

I haven't used SIS for a couple of years because nc-soccer is as good as you can get for DI women's soccer, but SIS used to be pretty good and I'm guessing it still is. (I'm biased towards nc-soccer, since I've been collaborating with its author on RPI stuff for the past few years.)

I don't think anyone has mentioned it yet, but LaSalle beat West Virginia 2-1 last night. West Virginia has had a pretty good pre-season ranking.

I mention this here because the Pilots play LaSalle in the UW tournament. It looks like LaSalle will be good this year and, especially if the Pilots can win against them, it will be great.

I had wondered whether LaSalle, which had a terrific record last year (great defense), would be good this year or a dud at the UW tournament. I guess I have my answer.

There isn't the kind of coverage there is for the women's side.

You can get a little from socceramerica and topdrawersoccer, but I don't think much of either. The best site I've found is
