A good series of pictures have been posted on the pilots web. Hegarty looks slimmed down from the earlier pics when he was first signed. Jasonn does look is good condition. I don't know but I'm really getting excited for the games to begin!!! On pilots on, sail on to victory. Plough thru the foaming waves and rule the surging sea. Our spirits undaunted, our spirits bold and true. Onward ye Pilots of Portland U. TA DA!!

Was attendance optional? I did not see any pictures of Luke Sikma or Robin Smeulders. Perhaps they had class conflicts when the photos were taken?

The rev report covers that. Luke has an injury (a ligament? I can't remember), Robin is recovering from a sports hernia operation.

Thanks, Geezer. I jumped over and listened; I'm behind on my All Pilots 24/7 program.

BTW, it was B.J. that Coach mentioned with a sports hernia. Didn't hear what the situation with Robin was.

Heard that Hegarty was down to 315 already... definitely a good sign, since he was listed at 350+ in HS. I also heard that he had a massive dunk in practice over Hannibal that had Larry Williams high-fiving people. Gotta love it! And gotta love the support from the AD too!

Sikma is shut down for a bit due to his knee. Robin I think is also taking it easy for a bit.

i saw practice last week, i was really impressed with hegarty. He looked to be winning the battle against jasonn but the game was a half court game. Also, he was definetly the emotional leader of his team which is always fun to see. Stohl looked good when he set his feet, it will be a lot better this year with Ito and Campbell taking the point and driving.

Thanks for the great pictures!!!

It sounds like Jason and Hagarty will be able to give Kramer some good relief with quality minutes at the Post. Or like Rev noted Having one of them at center and moving Kramer to the Power foward could create a tall lineup. Whatever happens it will be nice to have two guys in the post who can get up and down the court this year to spell each other.
I hope this year we have a pt guard who can shoot so Stohl can have time to set his feet, instead of playing 4 on 5 on offense ( not very nice to say but sometimes a reality last year) and the other team cheating over on him because the other guard is a poor shooter.
I look foward to watching the new guys, Whats up with Robin?
I still say it's going to be Ravio and/or Sikma that will take the Pilots to a .500 season. (If it happens)

He might be a shrimp by the time we get to see him.

There goes the "minor planet" moniker. (First there was big country Reeves, then Big Continent Millard, now.....)

You should have seen them conditioning last night. The whole team was out on the practice soccer field throwing medicine balls and running laps around the field. A little amusing if i do say so

Wow!

At that rate he'll be down to Jasonn's weight when he came in last year (295)

I was going through the pep band book, getting ready for my audition, and I found the music for this. I like the old school sound of it. It would be cool to start a new tradition and play it right before or after every game.

And just to review:
The University of Portland goes forth with courage and with pride.
The University of Portland will shout out its message far and wide--PURPLE PRIDE!
The University of Portland rides on with triumph over all.
Our Pilots stand tall, won't fall, will march on to victory!

Raise your voices high
Pilots battle cry:
V-I-C-T-O-R-Y!
