Re: U17 World Cup
A report on BS says the video of the Canada game is available Here.
You need a PC, so I guess I'll have to go in the attic and drag out the old laptop.
You may also need to get Silverlight for your browser. I'm sure the site will tell you.

Re: U17 World Cup
Wow! Those were quality highlights! Good stuff...Exciting match! It shows some nice runs and attacks by both teams. Lots of action in the box with many near misses. Can't believe it was only 1-0?
I'm gonna bookmark it and look for the US highlights. Hopefully, I'll get to see some clips with Bennet, Verloo and Colohan.
GO PILOTS!!!

FIFA will allegedly do the entire u17 tournament, and the u20's, too.
They are doing the entire games live in feeds to Europe and Africa, but those are not available in this country.

USA versus Japan
Wow! Wow! Wow! You all should check out the video clip of the U17 game against Japan! I must say...there is fantastic soccer being played at the WC!
Japan was very good. Relentless offense. Plus..I've never seen so many post hits in one game. Balls were bouncing off the frame from everywhere. I stopped counting!
The Japanese weren't shy about taking shots. There were 2 that were at least 40 yards out! One richochet off the post and ended up in a rebound goal.
The other was a masterpiece...a blast from almost the halfline!
Cloee must've been thinking...what the heck?!? Can't defend against shots like that?!

USA - Paraguay
The u17's came back from a goal down to defeat Paraguay 3-1.
Rebecca Fernandez scored the first goal in the 33rd minute for Paraguay. In the 48th, only aa couple of minutes after Courtney Verloo and Vicki DiMartino came into the game, the Paraguayan keeper (Cris Mabel Flores was credited with an own goal. Then in the 77th SiMartino put one in.
Verloo closed out the scoring in the 83rd minute.
Cloee Colohan played the whole game and received a totally undeserved yellow in the 69th minute. How do I know it was undeserved? Why, she's a Pilot!

Re: U17 World Cup
The US U-17s tied against France 1-1. The US is 2nd in the C group with a 1-1-1 record. Japan is 3-0 and leads the group with 9 points. They toasted Paraguay 7-2 today. France was tied with the US with 5 points...but advances to the quarterfinals. By the way, Japan also toasted France 7-1 in their previous match played on 11/2.
Japan is playing fabulous soccer and has beaten everyone in the group. I wonder if any of them are interested in UP's Nursing Program? Seems to me that Mami Yamiguchi (formerly with FSU) was just a hint of how good the talent is in Asia!

USA 4- S. Korea 2
USA goes into the semi finals against Germany after defeating s.Korea.
The Koreans apparently weren't the team they were when they stunned England a couple of days ago.
Of course, they weren't playing England today.

Yup. Cloee's no potted palm
this from Soccer365
My favorite part:
My favorite part:
Led by center back and team captain Cloee Colohan, outside backs Crystal Dunn and Rachel Quon, and defensive midfielder Amber Brooks, the U.S. team was extremely organized on defense over the 90 minutes, keeping the crafty South Koreans out of dangerous spots while out-shooting the Asian side 20-5. The Koreans managed just three shots on goal over the entire game, two of which went in. Five goals were scored in the second half, three by the USA and two by the Koreans after the USA took a 1-0 lead into halftime.

Change some names and teams and it reads like a Pilots write-up. Re: U17 World Cup
The USA beat Germany yesterday (today) 2:1.
The Germans got a goal from Alexandra Popp early, but the Americans came back on a goal from one of the DiMartino sisters (Vicki) and a game winner from Courtney Verloo.
They now face Korea DPR in the game for the Cup. Germany and England will square off for the third place game.
Cloee and Alexandra apparently got acquainted.

Re: U17 World Cup
Thanks, Geez, for the photos of Cloee. They are definitely whetting my appetite for the 2009 campaign.
By the way....I just realized that, although next season I'll no longer be able to yell "Go, Kori!" as I have enjoyed doing for the past four years, I will be able to yell "Go, Cloee!" Somehow this realization eases my sense of loss.

Cloee Colohan, a D. She's joining McCluskie, Tsao, Olivier, Sweeney, and Kelly. Not even funny how loaded the back line will be...
