PORTLAND, Ore. --- University of Portland basketball fans can now enter to win a free trip to Las Vegas for the 2009 WCC Basketball Tournament, including flight, hotel and ticket to the tournament (March 6-9) courtesy of Las Vegas Convention and Visitor’s Authority (LVCVA). All you have to do is create your very own ‘True Life’ video. See an example @ True Life: I'm a Pilot Fan. Show us what it means to be a ‘True’ UP fan and why you should win. Finally, put yourself in the running by submitting your video via YouTube.
Deadline for video entry is Tuesday, February 3, 2009. The winner will be selected by an online fan vote at www.portlandpilots.com, which will be open from February 3 through February 15. The winner will be announced on February 16, 2009.

The UP men’s basketball team got into the moment and created their own video spot. Check out the above link for inspiration!

Ha ha... OK, I changed my mind. Easily the best part of the video is Jasonn rocking the over-the-shoulder boombox. I didn't notice it at first, but I just watched it again and I was literally laughing out loud.

This video is awesome... seriously, a "must view"!!

Jasonn is great all the way through! Not to mention Nik and Jared on the stairs. TJ's got some moves, too

I don't want to give anything away, but... well... my video does include Wally drinking from a paper bag, the fight song, and an 80's training montage. It just might change the course of human history.

When I was going through ideas for the video, one of them was to recreate moments in Pilot history pretend like I was former Pilot greats, and Grant Tracey was definitely one of them - I was ready to write "Wild Thing" on my shoes and everything. I was really looking forward to doing the Kasey Flicker three and a Canaan Chatman dunk. (I also considered doing Curt Ranta on Blind Date.)

But then I changed directions. Ha ha... oh man, now I kind of regret it though.

You could have done Ryan Jones skateboarding outside of Franz when he was supposed to be in Athlete study hall.

Yes, Curt Ranta was definitely on Blind Date, and it was maybe the greatest thing I have ever seen in my life. I have no idea how/where we could get the footage, but it does exist somewhere I'm sure.

Anyway... finally got my video posted up. Stupid YouTube was giving me fits. I had to edit out the fight song part because it was too long, but oh well:
