Don't get discouraged PURPLEPRIDE13,ESPN is so slanted toward's Zag basketball it's par for the course. Make's sense to back a long term winner, don't step out of the box and rock the boat,heh? I think Andy Katz (the college bb contributor) and Pew have some kinda wierd intimate arrangement going on . Something like Vitale had with Valvano, or Vitale wish's he had with Bob Knight.JMO.

One thing I've learned from life experience's is the media usually bias . Turn on CNN---Democrat's ,turn on Fox New's---Republicians. (oh no, I hope I haven't opened up a can of worns with some of you ex-hippie,tree-huggers intellectuals up there with that comment). Be kind I wore a peace knecklace,and ty-dye shirts too.

P.S. I can't wait until I visit the Spectacularly Beautiful Portland area again this spring,just turn down the sprinkler a little again this year for me.

There's always going to be some media bias until we earn some respect. The reality is that Gonzaga has made it to the tourney for many consecutive years and we have not. Beating UW and Nevada and a few other teams won't be enough to earn us respect...

If you think that's bad, look at how the New England area teams are always overhyped and glorified since the ESPN offices are out of the Connecticut area. When UConn has a decent team, they seem to get hyped as being almost unbeatable...

At least there is March madness and we have an opportunity to have mid-majors shine and to have some entertaining cinderella runs and a national champion. I'm thankful for that...

i have no trouble with being bias, thats why upsets happen in the tourney, but getting a name right is something a lot different than being bias toward gonzaga, we are not portland state, that should not happen, its like mixing up oregon and oregon state, it just doesn't happen

And yet still 75% of the announcers STILL can't pronounce Gonzaga correctly....

Acually, it happens at bigger schools all the time. I agree there's no excuse for it, but, I can think of many times that UW or WSU or Oregon and OSU get confused. The reality is that many people who write for the AP don't know much about the schools that they are reporting on, and the people of ESPN (except for Colin Cowherd) who live in Connecticut don't know where the heck Corvalis or Pullman are...

We just have to keep winning and make a name for ourselves.
