Crew to be added? Empty Crew to be added?

Post by Guest Fri Jan 16, 2009 12:21 am

During the halftime of the USF game, there was a segment interviewing Laurie Kelley, a UP VP for Marketing talking about the campus expansion. She mentioned parking, athletic fields, environmental learning center, and she also mentioned Crew. Sounds like a new sport on the bluff. I read that the conference has five schools with Crew already. Will there be both Men's and Women's teams?

Also a good taped segment with Fr. Beauchamp discussing all the construction in process and planned. Makes me want to re-enroll to enjoy all these great amenities planned. Wonder if I could still get admitted; I think the standards are higher these days! geek

Crew has been a rumor on the bluff for a while - maybe a bit more than just a rumor. Now that the campus meets the river, a move in that direction is inevitable.

Get her done! It seems like a logical progression. Wasn't Crew a club sport (not officially with the NCAA) for UP like rugby for a while? Maybe someone can clarify what the status of those sports on campus is. Thanks.

Yay! I'm a Pilot Nation regular now. (I won't use an extra post to state that.) GO PILOTS!

There already is a crew team for both men and women. They've been pretty successful, too.

If you check the Lake Washington regatta last year, you'll see the time for the UP boat was better than Gonzaga's, for instance. They were WCC champs last year.

Check out their site HERE.
