A good article in Saturday's Oregonian on Robin's eligibility issues upon his arrival to the Bluff... and there might be a sliver of hope that he gets his lost year back! That would be sweet.... Very Happy Very Happy Very Happy

I agree. Heck Kevin Love used to travel to AAU tourney's with his team in "special" luxury bus. Plasma TV's in Bus and the free luxury hotel accomendations provided, free gear, shorts, jerseys, and shoe's are provided ...these are all par for the course for high school AAU tourney's and "Camps" (another name for recruiting spots for 5-star players for Roy Williams-North Carolina,Duke,Kansas,Louisville,Memphis,Florida,Georgetown, Conneticut,Syracuse..........to attend and jack up HS kid's unreal expection's they will make the NBA.(Rev and staff make it to scoop up some student athlete's out of these places though only 2-star's at best usually)

I think Robin should get some consideration. But then again I'm a hommerr and think only good things-no injuries, great recruits,elgibility.... should happen to the Portland Pilot program.

Speaking of recruiting? What is the situation this year? With zero seniors, do we have any scholarships to give? Any players considering coming to UP?

Recruiting is the next area needing improvement for continued success. I'd say PG is a critical future need, since TJ only has one more year.

I would like it if Rev would recruit another JC Point guard for 2010-2011 to replace TJ. That guard would give our Eric stiff competion and look what a JC transfer has provided for the Pilot's this year. Could one only imagine if he had not gone the JC route at pt guard this year ,,I believe it would have been another so,so.... well were young, let's get them next year season with last years pt guard starting for the Pilot's.

As far as next year I believe with the tireless recruiting Rev does he should look for a 4 year player(3-5 star player). With the improved team and better record he NEED'S
to sign a "star" HS player from the local area to start a POSITIVE impact on his NW recruiting. That way young player's want to go to UP instead leave the Portland area and their families to go to the Ducks(Sims)...other Pac-Ten teams or worse yet the Zaggetes(Poling). He need's to stop all academically qualified student /athlete BB players from fleeing the area. Portland is a wonderful place to play basketball with a top-notch progressive, lively community that kid's from rural America to the inner-city should look at eagerly to go to attend for a University education. I believe they will after this year and next.

I tend to agree with the idea of looking for a four year player for once TJ graduates, but, who am I to say how Reveno should run the program. In most cases in college sports it seems like getting the JC players is a short term solution until a program gets more established and is able to get those 3-5 star players who can be developed more consistently. It seems like that's what Rev is trying to do, and he's doing a great job. This year is more about just putting our name on the recruiting map for those who haven't heard of UP yet, and hopefully making the NIT and making some noise. Anything more than that would be gravy IMO. Surprised
