Saint Mary's game day
OK folks, time to show your support for the women's team. It's not at the same time as the men's, so the old "I wanna listen to the men" excuse doesn't hold water.
The last game had a small crowd of 297, and this team definitely merits better fan support than that.
2:00 PM - Chiles Center.
and wear something pink.

Saturday’s match-up with Saint Mary’s is UP’s annual “Pink Zone” game, an initiative begun by the WBCA to raise breast cancer awareness in women’s basketball, on campuses and in communities. Fans are encouraged to join the two teams in wearing pink to the game. The University will also use the game against the Gaels as a chance to “Pack the House”, a national competition aimed to promote women’s basketball attendance and awareness. The goal is to set a season-high in attendance at a UP women’s basketball game.

Women are 4 for 5 from 3-range, and lead 41-26 at the half.
Keep it up, Pilots!

Re: Saint Mary's game day
Another impressive win over a decent St. Mary's squad. 8-2 in conference!

A nice win against a pretty good team. UP showed pretty good defense to hold off a spirited comeback attempt and some questionable officiating. Jim drew a warning and a technical at one point. But boy! there were some pretty shoddy calls.
All is good, though. Up can pretty much coast into the tournament as long as they hold serve.
Great job, Ladies!

Not quite sure about that . . . LMU has always had a pretty strong program and does again this year. In fact, they beat the Pilots by nine at the Chiles Center. If the ladies lose on the road to the Lions, they'll have identical records and the Lions will hold the tiebreaker.

True, but they have to play the Zagz again and we don't.

Good point. I didn't think I would, but I really like the idea of getting the Zags out of the way early - for both teams.
