Every student section does things that make you shake your head from time to time. Tonight the SCU student section probably cost their team a game they probably had a chance of winning. Unbelievable....

Re: Santa clara student "fans"
I mean, the reffing was bad enough that I don't blame them for wanting to throw stuff on the floor. At the same time . . .
YOU CAN'T THROW STUFF ON THE FLOOR!
Throw it at Ronny Turiaf instead!

Re: Santa clara student "fans"
Seriously, two technical fouls against SCU for the students throwing things on the floor. Wow.
Lets hope they throw lots of stuff on the floor Saturday...

Re: Santa clara student "fans"
The reffing may have been bad, but it was clearly both ways. SCU was all over us and not getting called for a lot of shoving, illegal screens, and over the back on rebounding. SCU fans didn't cost their team the game in terms of points (we won by eight), but they did take away any chance of their team winning, and it's certainly possible that without that momentum shift they would have been able to come up with the win. The Zags were playing terribly last night (except for Heytfelt), especially on 3 pt shooting and defense. We beat them by 40 up here in Spokane and barely squeaked out a win there last night - frustrating. At least we didn't lose.

Re: Santa clara student "fans"
I just pencillied this out, and under the assumption that if we were to beat SCU: the only way we can get the #2 seed is if SMC loses to Pepp.

I think the only way we can get the #2 seed now is if LMU knocks off SMC Saturday (Granted, the Lions have been playing much better recently, but that's a tall order). Thanks to USF beating SCU last week, USD would win the tiebreaker over SCU... SMC's 2-0 record vs. USD would beat our 1-1, and so we get to play on Saturday.

Re: Santa clara student "fans"
"Not so fast, my friend!" Given the way we have played the last two games, I wouldn't be laying the mortgage money down at LV on a first round win against the 6/7 team. I would hope for the win, but I wouldn't put it in the bank. This Pilot team has to show that they can play strong when a lot is on the line, and they haven't, yet.

Yeah, we still aren't good enough to be thinking ahead. We've got to get through our first round game first. If Mills beats the odds and comes back for the tourney, SMC won't be a nice matchup for anyone.

Washington Huskies-top 25,Pac-Ten Leader,St Mary's-2nd place WCC, 4 losses all year, Nevada-great RPI win
That is my matraa,as I prepare for a bounce back good solid performance today vrs Santa Clara. Then again they could stink it up like the USD or Northern Colorado games on the ROAD.
THE PILOT'S PRETTY MUCH OWN THE HOME COURT. To bad that need's to carry over to road game's .
