New Safari Browser
I've been testing out the new 4.0 beta Safari browser from Apple for the last couple of days.
I'm guessing you have to have a pretty good PC or Mac, but It rocks! on my iMac
In addition to being faster than my old browsers, it's got some nifty ways to present multiple websites. Up to 24 thumbnails will get your top sites instantly if you wish (Safari keeps track of your most popular, or you can lock in your fav's). Yeah, the Google Chrome browser and Opera have similar features, but Apples has their usual slick touch. You can view your history and your bookmarks with Coverflow, just like looking at albums with iTunes. Both are searchable a well. The other stuff is all there - tabs, etc.
Put a couple of monitors up with the different features running at the same time in different windows and you'll feel like Lieutenant Sulu in the Command Center of the Enterprise, or Adrian Veidt in his Antarctic redoubt.
Give it a try. The Mac version is rock solid and flawless so far.

So Geezer, have you read Watchmen? The book has so much more than could possibly be in the movie (which I'm still going to see Friday). It really is incredible.

I've been meaning to check out the graphic novel... is it worth dropping the $20 for it?

Re: New Safari Browser
I would say yes. But some searching online will probably get you a better deal.

Re: New Safari Browser
Excellent... haha I didn't really look it up, that was a random number based on what I'd seen other graphic novels priced at

You are willing to spend $20 on a GRAPHIC novel (does that mean porn?) but not $135 on a trip to Las Vegas to watch the Pilots win the WCC Tourney?

Good question wizzy. DTR, you're already at 15% of the cost of a ticket after buying ONE book. Think about it.

Isn't the booze free when you're winning your millions at the blackjack table? That was my impression, but I've never been.

Hahaha yeah...they pass around beer and watered down swill... But I'm terrible at blackjack... And I was more concerned about food and shelter

Re: New Safari Browser
Never been to Vegas?! The key is to scope out the good spots to play, where the cocktailers walk by frequently... Once, several of us sat at a bank of penny slots and got sloshed on "free" drinks while never losing more than a couple bucks... it was right next to where the waitress walked by, to and from the bar... And it was near the more expensive slots, too, so she was nearby frequently!
But yeah, if you are 'actively' playing, and give a good, consistent tip (this is also key), they will usually keep you well lubricated.

I usually start at the video poker built in at the bar... leave a few good tips and they pretty much refill you as soon as you finish.... And if you play Deuces Wild, it's pretty damn easy to keep it right around your initial investment...
But that's just me...

Oh come on, DTR!! Its called mooching. Are you telling me that you couldnt find anyone who would let you crash on their hotel room floor?! (Remember that its easier to ask for forgiveness than permission... you just show up at the door. )
Oh, and there will be munchies at the alumni events... and you could certainly sneak into the other 7 school's events, too... come to think of it you could probably eat quite nicely by rotating around to the different functions.
Not that I have ever done that sort of thing...
