Ratings Percentage Index
So I was just curious to see what the Pilot's current RPI is, now that their regular season is over.
Over at Kenpom it is currently 105. It dropped in the last couple days from 101, which is understandable, I guess.
Then i checked realtimerpi. They don't like the Pilots as much over there. The Pilots are all the way down to 117.
Then I got to thinking, most of us here are hoping that the Pilots can get into some sort of postseason play. Then I did some math in my head.
64 teams in the National Collegiate Athletic Association tournament
32 teams in the National Invitational Tournament
16 teams in the College Basketball Invitational
EQUALS
112 Teams in Postseason play
Now, I know they won't all stick to RPI when they do their selections. And we also have to consider that there are lower ranked teams in the NCAA tournament. So it looks to me like we are right on the bubble for postseason play. I guess that means we are going to have to be Husky fans (?) in the Pac-10 tournament (and of whoever else we have played, PSU, etc.) in hopes to bump our RPI up a little bit.
Or maybe tournament organizers will be happy with our "Feel Good" story.

Even for the sake of the Pilots, it is hard to be a UW fan.

Re: Ratings Percentage Index
The 'O' has an article saying OS(ewe) is being considered for the CBI. With a losing record! Guess that's what comes from hiring a coach related to someone who is married to someone who is famous. We didn't check Rev's family tree close enough. Maybe they need someone close to play them? Or maybe it's just posturing for the media on the part of the CBI.

Even I have a hard time rooting for any team with Venoy Overton on it... And I grew up a Husky...

I'd be surprised if we don't get into one of the postseason tournaments. I'd be even more surprised if we didn't do well once invited.

Matty,
There are 65 teams in the NCAAs. Remember the ridiculous and completely unnecessary play-in game? That makes 113 teams in the postseason. That could make a difference for the Pilots...
