Patrick Simon a four star recruit who was committed to WSU has opened things back up.

SIMON HAS TALKED to two other schools in recent days -- Gonzaga and Portland. He said the discussions were at the introductory stage

He might still end up at WSU but it would be really great for the Pilots to land him.

Very Happy

Good find, IronLions! Patrick would be a good get for the fall of 2010... we will have lots of spots to fill.

Interestingly, he committed to Wazzu as a freshman in high school!

The fact that we might be competing with Gonzaga for recruits is great news by itself. What a get that would be . . .

It's nice to know that after this successful season, we can compete for 4 star recruits. Rev is beginning to raise the bar of the program in all aspects.

Also another though about Pilot recruiting. I noticed that Ameer Shamsud-din is transfering from Cal State Fullerton. He is a Portland kid and could also be nice for the Pilots.

To Iron Lions; you had a transfer from the Lions, a post player who is from the same high school as our Stoll. Last name starts with a "L" who it sounds like is going to Portland State, home of the transfers. What happened to him ?

Here's more info about Ameer:

It sounds like he didn't get too many minutes last year as a freshman; he may be looking for a bigger role...

Sailor... Nathan Lozeau was actually at San Diego and transferred to Portland State. I think will be elligible in the Fall, though my memory may be shaky... he may have transferred during Winter Break and thus wouldn't be elligible til December next year.

As for Ameer Shamsud-din... I don't really see it happening. Portland doesn't have a scholarship to offer, and from what I remember he couldn't get the test scores to get into Pepperdine (who he committed to after backing out on LMU, by the way). Doesn't really seem like a good fit for Rev.
