Cairns 108 Pilots 101
From the game summary, this was a good contest, with the Cairns team pulling it out at the end. LINK

Damn, 4-0 would have been nice, but its nice to get a good competitive game, and heck hopefully it gives Rev and the coaching staff some things to consider/tinker with...
Now about that open scholarship....

Yeah... too bad we couldn't get the perfect 4-0, but considering Cairns is an established top-level pro team there with lots of professional, older players, I'm happy that we went into the 4th quarter with a lead. Sounds like they shot super well from three, which is always tough to deal with.
The guys return home tomorrow... wonder how many will stick around for summer school?

Good point... And now that we have the "director of athletic performance" it would be nice if we can use that loophole to keep the guys that stick around working on improving phyically and technically leading into next year!

Re: Cairns 108 Pilots 101
Oh absolutely. Having Brad Scott on staff is a huge asset, because he can work with the guys as much as they want on conditioning, strength training, etc. Because he's not an assistant coach, the NCAA does not restrict his access to the players. Definitely a big benefit.
I think usually most of the guys stick around for at least one session of summer school. I'm guessing that this Australia trip (I know they were taking a class during it) will count as the summer session for a lot of them and that several will head home for the summer.
Looking at the schedule, looks like the first summer session goes from May 18-June 26 and the second goes from June 29-August 6. They also have 8-week sessions (that's new!), and the second one goes from June 15-August 6.
So who knows? Maybe some guys will be around for at least one of those.

Re: Cairns 108 Pilots 101
When i spoke to the coaches and players they said that the whole team is staying for summer school. They want to keep the guys together and working out as much as possible. they guys get a week or two after they get back but then they are all back for summer school. So hopefully the guys will be stronger and more ready for this season than ever before.
The guys got a summer class credit from Dan McGinty's Aussie History class while they were out here so that probably helped them but they are all coming back for a summer session.
As far as the Cairns game, thats a pretty good result considering the travelling, other games etc. Cairns are really good. But personally i hate the guy who dropped 40 on us. I played him in High school and i think he's a massive tool. so i'm a little bitter about that one. but i think this trip will give the guys a massive edge on the competition come the first game.

Nice. Time to add some music to some of those YouTube videos. Rev should auction off the Australian flag speedo at one of next year's games. Somethin' for the ladies.
