BUMP
This goes on at 8:00 tonight... would be nice to support it, since it's great that the WCC is taking these steps to up the content available to fans.
Check it out! You can tune in at the WCC official site or at blogtalkradio.com/wccsports

Re: WCC Live radio show
I listened, and won a T-shirt for answering the trivia question. I rule!
The interviewer didn't really get too in-depth, but did ask him about recruiting locally vs. internationally, which was interesting. Conner said that the backbone of the program has been and always will be NW kids, and they'll go out of region every now and then when they find someone they think can help.
Conner also talked about how he felt that having the Western Regionals in Oregon this year was an advantage for the Pilots (because of the track conditions and the weather) and said that they need to run well at the Dellinger meet, Pre-Nats, and Regionals to make it to Nationals.
I was hoping they would get into the fact that Portland doesn't even run its Top 7 and still wins the WCC, but it didn't come up.

He said something about a lowly recruit out of Pullman, WA who arrived in the fall of 2000 taking the program to the next level. He said this particular harrier never really did much on the (whatever XC runners run on) but what he did off the (whatever XC runners run on) forced the actual athelets to pick up their game. Which in turn helped him bring in the top recruits he has been getting. So while this runner never showed up on Todd McShay's top 15,000 runners of his high school class, he is the runner that Conner gave credit to for where the program is today.
