Good Praise from USF Coach... Empty Good Praise from USF Coach...

From the San Francisco Chronicle... check it out:

After routing Gonzaga 3-0 Friday night, the USF women ran into a buzz saw Sunday at home against sixth-ranked Portland. USF has not beaten Portland (with only a tie to show for 20 games), and this time it was a 6-0 pasting as sophomore forward Kendra Chandhoke scored four goals. "That's the best team we've played this year," USF coach Mark Carr said. Portland has outscored its opponents 14-1 in the four games since defender Stephanie Lopez returned from the U.S. World Cup team.

USF has played North Carolina, UCLA and Stanford this season. And the coach was an assistant at UCLA last year, so he knows what high-level soccer looks like.

Maybe he's just covering his a** after the pasting UP put on them, but still... to me that is just another affirmation that this team will be right in the mix for the title.

I know Mark Carr, and he's a great guy and a wonderful coach. He will have the USF program turned around sooner than many think. He doesn't say anything he doesn't mean--so he wouldn't say that just to be nice.

Another great find, Stoney. (Sorry, had to use Geezer's nickname for you cause I'm trying to be quicker in my posts. I am very slow in writing, and any shortcut is helpful to me. If you don't like the nickname, tell me and I won't use it again.)

You are my MVP on this board, and there are many deserving members to choose from. It's your constant research and posting of such great nuggets on the Pilots that make you a cut above.
