February 17th--Haiti Benefit Match vs. Timbers
Just heard that there will be a soccer game held at 7pm on February 17th at Merlo Field. It will feature the Pilot men's team versus the Portland Timbers. It is a fundraiser with all of the proceeds to benefit the Haiti relief effort. General admission tickets are seven dollars per person.
Great way to spend a Wednesday night during this time of the year without any soccer taking place.

Lets just hope that it is cleaner than the last Pilots vs Timbers game. That one got kind of ugly, for a scrimmage.
That said, it still seems like a great way to spend a Wed. night (and for a good cause).

The one last year was fine. It was two years ago the boys got spirited. As I recall Andrew Gregor was involved, which would explain a lot...NewUPFan wrote:Lets just hope that it is cleaner than the last Pilots vs Timbers game. That one got kind of ugly, for a scrimmage.

Re: February 17th--Haiti Benefit Match vs. Timbers
Final score: Timbers 2, Pilots 0.
More importantly, it sounds like almost $8,000 was raised for Mercy Corps' Haiti Relief efforts!
Congratulations to the Pilots and Timbers on a great event!

For those who didn't know, one of our new signings, James Marcelin (#14, the tall center back) is from Haiti.

"Our" in this instance referring to the Timbers. The Pilots did see their (our?) new aquisition-via-transfer Connor Barbaree register two shots for the match.
