2010 team/

Is there a consensus that Michelle Cruz and "Dani da Fox" are our two probable starters at striker in the fall? was a question asked on another thread.

GK is Hailee; or one of the two highly touted freshmen

D-Line: Jessica, MichelleO, Cloee, Elli; with good cover from Kristen Kelly and Molly Klier and Kassi McKluskie, and we know that Kendall can play outside d now

Midfield: Kendra, Keelin, Kendall, and Sophie; with Charney, Taylor, and freshmen - Sarah Bridges and Ellen Parker

Forward: Dani and MichelleC; with Halley, Amanda Frisbie and Micaela Capelle

It will be interesting to see if any of the freshmen start because Sophie could play forward. Michelle Cruz is the most likely immediate starter if only because she has been playing national team. But it's going to be fun to see how this plays out.

What happens if Sarah Bridges has the same local girl impact as Kendall.

Any way it plays out next year we need the new girls to get some experience because in 2011 we will lose Jessica, Elli, Keelin, Kendra and Sophie from starting line up. Ouch!

Interesting that it appears we may have the best quality depth in years. But, as you note, we'll be losing a lot of talent after the 2010 season. I'm hoping 2011 will be another banner year for recruits.

This is an incredibly deep team!! The reserves could end up being the second best team in the conference if the freshmen are as good as they appear to be.

Consider this team -
goalie - either freshman
back line - Kristen and Kassie (proven players) and Molly and ?
mids - Charney and Taylor (also proven players) with Sarah and Ellen
Attackers - Halley and one of the freshmen

And, we still have some of the other older players on the roster to consider - Sarah Jackman, Emma Nelson, Elinor Priest. Quite a 2nd team.

Just wonder if there is a direct correlation between the late offer to Micaela Capelle and Charney's transfer. Perhaps the staff knew Charney was leaving and had some scholarship money available. With Bridges coming aboard and Johnson playing ahead of her, her playing time would have been less frequent than someone of her skills would want. Too bad. I wish Charney well at whatever school she lands.

I personally enjoyed her tenure as a Pilot very much!

I completely agree - the 2010 team has extraordinary talent and depth.

But to beat teams like Santa Clara, UCLA, ND or UNC the players have to be trained (and allowed) to play very fast, creatively and with some bite.
