nik gets a tryout

the KATU news announced that NIK will get a tryout with the Blazers.

yeah, it's probably just a courtesy thing like his brother got, but its still cool.

Either way its a cool opportunity, even if it's a total longshot. It always helps to get as much exposure as posible. One can't wish for nothing but the best for Nik. Especially after the heartbreak of sitting on the sideline the last half of his Senior season.

Just a question for the Geez or Stoney? I have been told that Ito will be paid handsomely to play in Japan Professionally. I guess with the popularity of basketball and he being a Native Born athlete he will be in high demand over there.

I'm sure Robin will do well in Germany, he's played in europe before.


Has anybody heard what TJ is doing? Is Ethan trying to catch on somewhere or is he in Grad. studies?

From what I have heard Ito is making close (if not all) of a max rookie contract. I think everyone is trying to play somewhere next year but I have only heard of Robin and Ito signing.

What does a max rookie contract in Japan pay? Just curious...

Buchanan's take: "I think he's one of the toughest kids in all of college basketball. Really physical guard, great on-ball defender, unselfish, kind of glue guy. Really, really respect him as a player. I don't know if he's an NBA player but really respect him as a college player and think that he can make some money somewhere. It might be in the NFL. Who knows?"

Too bad for Nik. I haven't seen it mentioned anywhere, so I thought I would ask, did anyone notice former Pilot forward Marcus Lewis on the OKC summer league roster? My guess is he was given a spot as a courtesy since he played at a local school, Oral Roberts, similar to Raivio on the Blazers team. Anyway, he posted 9 rebounds in 23 minutes in his debut.
