BYU Coming to the WCC
Looks like everything but football is joining the WCC next year. It will be interesting to have another good women's soccer program in the conference.

What's going to happen to their softball, swimming (M + W) and track 9 (M+W) programs?

Baseball, Volleyball, M/W Basketball, M/W CC, M/W Golf, W Soccer and M/W Tennis are all making the transition to WCC. Don't know about the sports you mentioned, but there is a press conference tomorrow that will probably answer that question.

Re: BYU Coming to the WCC
Wow, at least at first glance, it seems like that would be a very good thing for women's soccer.
PS -- It's not near April 1, is it?

Re: BYU Coming to the WCC
BYU Soccer in the WCC? Yes! I think the conference will benefit. They're huge! How many students larger are they than the average WCC school? Double the # of student in most cases, right?
It'll be very interesting to see Lindsi Lisonbee play at Merlo. She was a very highly rated recruit that changed her commitment from UP to BYU. In fact, I think she was supposed to be in the same incoming class as Cloee...who also is from Utah.
She's a 5'10" defender and has a very credentialed resume...

I'm pretty sure that BYU does not play on games on Sundays. Does that mean that we'll have a Thursday-Saturday weekend when they come to town?

Zaninovich said he had a mockup of a 9-team schedule ready to show BYU. It might have been for basketball but the principles would be the same for soccer, so this has probably been worked out. If BYU is the only team coming that weekend it could be just Friday or Saturday.
If you were wondering, BYU men's soccer is a club sport and they compete in the PDL (the level the Timbers U-23s played).

Re: BYU Coming to the WCC
Nice article about how the move to the WCC affects BYU women's soccer:
http://www.deseretnews.com/article/700062128/Move-to-WCC-has-BYU-coaches-cautiously-optimistic.html?s_cid=rss-28
The coach is saying all the right things, at least.

Interesting that the coach said they are scheduled to play UP in 2012.
Not 2011?
