Timbers 2011

Now that we have 4 MLS players we may as well have an MLS thread. The first four signings are F Bright Dike, GK Steve Cronin, F/M Ryan Pore, and from Austin, F Eddie Johnson.

If GW likes Eddie I'll trust him on that. The other three are all guys I would have expected. There are some guys like Futty, Alhassan, and Joy who will probably come along later.

After every event like this I think, "This is really happening."

I need to amend this: Technically all four were Timbers. Portland traded for Johnson during the season then loaned him back to Austin. Because his rights belong to Portland they get first crack at signing him ahead of Vancouver. Sneaky.

The expansion draft protected/unprotected lists are out, and there's a notable name available from RSL.

Collen Warner, you're coming back to Portland. Well, after we grab Dax McCarty with the first pick.

We actually have 5 Timbers now. We picked up Jeremy Hall from NY in exchange for a 3d round 2011 Superdraft pick.

Portland also gave the Galaxy allocation $ for one of their international roster spots for the 2011 and 2012 seasons.
