UP Alumni Office's Vegas Offerings Empty UP Alumni Office's Vegas Offerings

Post by PilotNut Tue Jan 04, 2011 2:39 pm

From the Alumni Office:

There has never been a better excuse to get the old gang back together and head to Las Vegas than the 2011 West Coast Conference basketball tournament. The Office of Alumni Relations has structured an exciting weekend around the Pilot men’s and women’s basketball games. Options include golf at TPC Las Vegas, an exclusive spa day, and an evening show. Join us for a pre-game tailgate outside the Orleans Arena two hours prior to the start of the first Pilot men’s basketball game of the tournament. The Office of Alumni Relations will be offering a shuttle service between the Orleans Arena and the Bellagio Hotel for each Pilot men's basketball game.

Discounted rooms available for Alumni and friends at the Bellagio Hotel (From $150 a night!).

Contact the Office of Alumni Relations at alumni@up.edu to learn more.

GO PILOTS!

oh my I think I will stay in my comped Orleans room.

I like the idea of a pregame outside the arena. Any chance of getting a video feed if we are playing in the late game.

Excellent idea... Events the past 2 years in the Irish Pub were cool, as there was a video feed in there...

I assume the $150/night is reimburseable in the casino? Rolling Eyes

For anyone going to Vegas (which is hopefully all of you), you are going to want to make lodging arrangements very soon... rumor has it the Orleans is already sold out, as are many other hotels... NASCAR is also in town that weekend...

I can hardly wait for the weekend and the auto-bid! Wink

If you haven't made your reservations for cars and Hotels, make them NOW?

Jamie Zaninovich mentions that there will be a NASCAR event in Las Vegas that weekend. When they come to a town, the place is a zoo.

Oh great, the ticket scalpers wonderland, any more bad news, I lost over $300 dollars in Hotel Reservation money because I got rear-ended the day before the tourney last year....f

The WCC Men's Tournament Bracket has been announced, and the University of Portland has earned the No. 5 seed. Our men's team will play an opening round game against Loyola Marymount on Friday, March 4, with a scheduled tip-off at 6:00 p.m.

Join us for the pre-game tailgate at 4:00 p.m. in the executive parking lot across the street from the main entrance of the Orleans Arena. The Alumni Relations Office will provide the food, and there will be a no-host bar at the pre-game socials. All alumni and friends of the University of Portland are welcome to join!

We will host pre-game socials starting 1-½ hours prior to every University of Portland men’s game, in the same place in the executive parking lot.

If you are staying at the Bellagio, or should you find yourself at the Bellagio Hotel on the Las Vegas strip during the weekend, feel free to stop by the Pilot hospitality suite for refreshments. The suite is located in Room 9601 of the Bellagio Hotel. Call the room to gain access to suite by dialing extension 9601 from any phone in the Bellagio.

Sunday Mass will be celebrated by university President Rev. Bill Beauchamp at 9:00 a.m. in the Mardi Gras Room at the Orleans Hotel.

If you have any questions or need special accommodations, please contact the Alumni Office before Friday at alumni@up.edu.

See you in Las Vegas! Go Pilots!
Please forward this e-mail to any other Pilots that you know will be joining us for the WCC tournament in Las Vegas!

We'll see you at the tailgate. Sounds like some good partying to be had. Why the Bellagio instead of the Orleans?

That's exactly what the director of the Orleans Arena said to me on the phone the other day...and then he started laughing hysterically.

I think I fit in better with the Orleans crowd than the Bellagio crowd, so I guess I don't see the benefit. I will still be sure to stop by for a drink though. Very Happy

PS - Now that I have your cell number, be prepared to get a few late night texts. Cheers!

I am just glad we pass muster to get into the Executive lot...

Woodless!, can you be more specific as to the location? I know that the Main Entrance is not the walkway from the Orleans casino... and there are several parking lots, and they are huge...
