WCC RPI
Real time RPI has the WCC ranked with the Pilots on top:
37 Portland
40 St. Mary's
43 Gonzaga
158 San Francisco
196 Santa Clara
266 Pepperdine
278 Loyola Marymnt
307 San Diego
I know it's still early, but with 12-16 games played, the rankings start to have some meaning. I find it interesting that while the Pilots have the top RPI now, they are projected to finish third with an 8-6 conference record. The game predictions say two losses each to St. Marys and Gonzaga, along with a split of San Francisco and Santa Clara. I would be disappointed with that record (I know, a Pilot fan being disappointed by a 20+ win season ). I think we should be able to win our home games against the lower 5, win one home game against either Gonzaga or St. Mary's, and only lose one road game to the lower 5. That would give us a 10-4 conference record. Probably still only good for 3rd place, but with one more upset win, we could end up in 2nd.
