To call it a "quest for liberty" is to give credrence, arguably, to the notion that our Western system of values should be imprinted on Eygyptian society. It may be that many protestors are labelling it that themselves, but they may represent a stratum of society that is not representative of the majority, who I suspect could give a rip about liberty in the Western sense.

More importantly it ignores recent history of the transition of goverments in the middle east, where some form of totalitarian dictatorship, whether theocratic or otherwise, seems to rise to the top. It is a quest to rid the country of Mubarek, who by Middle Eastern standards is reasonably moderate, but that does not say much for those standards.

I wish the protestors well, and parrticulary the one depicted. I hope all turns out well and people are better off after Mubbarek.
