While disappointed in the outcome who would have thought this years team would have had a chance against a Gonzaga team rated in the top ten at the start of the season...well Geez pass the adult beverages around the curse continues....the evil empire wins again.....But, no....wait until Las Vegas when we get them or St Marys in the Semi's who will be ready for that........Mesa will

Re: PILOTS LOSE TO ZAGS 67-64
It probably sounds crazy, but, I feel like we should have taken a risk and taken a few more 3s. Going into the game, they had the worst 3 point shooting defense statistically in the nation according to an article in the Seattle Times today, however, they had the best field goal defense overall in the WCC. At the end of the game our stats reflected that. We shot a better percentage from 3 point land than from the field...

I don't necessarily agree. I think trying to get into the paint was a calculated move to spread the floor. The zags didn't give you much opportunity outside after that initial barrage because there was not as much of a need to protect the paint.onetouchfutbol wrote:It probably sounds crazy, but, I feel like we should have taken a risk and taken a few more 3s. Also, its hard to gameplan for this year's zags, as you never know which of the 11 players that get 10+ minutes a game is going to go off.

Re: PILOTS LOSE TO ZAGS 67-64
The stretch in the second half where Gonzaga was able to build a 10-point lead hurt. Guys were throwing the ball away and forcing bad shots.
I would agree with the above. Gray was invisible in the first half, then made some big baskets in the last 5 minutes. Stockton doesn't shoot all night then makes a 3 late.
At least I got a nice t-shirt out of it.

, not exactly a white out though, contrary to some I was impressed with the student body tonight...they were great support to the Pilots...with all the Zag fans present the reg. crowd was bound to be lukewarm

The students were loud but we both know this will be the only game many of them go to all year.MesaPilot1 wrote:At least I got a nice t-shirt out of it.

They were starting some original chant in the front and the back was doing the old "DEFENSE." I wanted to tell them to listen and pick up the creative one...
