Congratulations, Kramer!
Knutson Garners Academic All-District Honors
University of Portland senior center Kramer Knutson was one of five players named to the Capital One CoSIDA Academic All-District 8 men’s basketball team, the College Sports Information Directors of America announced on Thursday. Knutson, who is a four-year starter that is tied for the school record with 112 games started, is a philosophy major with a 3.66 grade-point average. He will now be on the voting ballot for Academic All-America consideration.
To be eligible for award consideration, a student-athlete must have been at the nominating institution for at least one year and have at least sophomore athletic eligibility. A minimum 3.30 cumulative grade-point average is the cutoff and the student-athlete must be a starter or prominent reserve that has competed in at least 50 percent of the team’s games. District 8 consists of institutions from the following states: Alaska, California, Hawaii, Idaho, Nevada, Oregon, Utah and Washington.
A two-time West Coast Conference All-Academic Team selection, Knutson tied Dionn Holton (1995-98) for the most starts in Portland Pilots history after Thursday night’s game against Gonzaga. The Mesa, Ariz. native has started 112 career games and also ranks No. 5 in school history with 69 career blocked shots.
Knutson has started all 23 games this season for the Pilots (16-7) and is averaging 7.2 points and 5.4 rebounds. His 37 blocked shots are second in the WCC. His field goal percentage this year leads the team (.566) and his career field goal percentage is .547 (fourth in school history).
The University of Portland has had 18 student-athletes earn a total of 28 Academic All-America honors in its history. Rick Raivio is the only men’s basketball player to be honored, garnering third team recognition in 1978 and 1980.
Portland will play at Seattle on Saturday at 7 p.m. to conclude its non-conference schedule. The game will be televised live on FSN Northwest.

Thanks for posting Pilotnut, now here's to hoping that he comes back to Mesa before joining Nik,Robin, and TJ oversea's or Law School if March Madness(we can always dream heh?) is his last competitive game...errh check that he was a pretty fair 4th man(Pro scout interest of course it doesnt hurt when there all there to watch Mickey McConnel bat and field, lol) in the Dobson High Baseball lineup so you may be "shuffling" me over to another board... :face: ...OMG...NOT another 4 yrs of Mesa on the Pilot Baseball Board ....lol

Sets UP Career Record for most starts (113 and counting).
One hell of a Student-Athlete if you ask me.
