Re: 18.8%
And it isn't like UConn was much better, ugh what an atrocious end to an otherwise very entertaining tournament.
The Huskies better hang that championship banner quick and take a picture before the NCAA has a chance to check out all the skeletons in the closet...

Ugliest game I have seen in a long time- not just because of the score.

Now, we get to listen to Bristol-based ESPN pipe their horns about UConn for weeks while they claim that they don't drink the Kool Aid.

Re: 18.8%
So, is UConn the worst NCAA Champion ever? I was thinking maybe the 1985 Villanova squad, but they were 11-8 in the Big East Conference, while this team was 9-9 and 9th place in conference.

Has there been another NCAA champion on probation?
It's starting to look like the strategy of choice for getting a championship.

Hmmm... I'm not a fan of UConn, and I don't look forward to hearing ESPN toot their horn over and over again. However, I wouldn't consider them the worst NCAA Champion ever. Yes, they were 9-9 in the Big East, however, they won the Big East tournament and peaked at the right time of the year. For comparison, here are some other teams to think about (not implying that these teams were the worst ever either, just surprises):
* #8 seed Villanova (the same seed as Butler this year) won the tourney in 1985.
* The 1997 Mike Bibby lead Arizona team finished pretty low in the Pac-10 (possibly 5th, I believe) before winning the title.
Give UConn a little bit of credit for playing great defense in an ugly game and executing in the second half. I think if we look at how many pros come from this team, we'll realize that they were actually pretty good. Walker, Lamb, and Oriakhi will probably be decent pros. I was actually very impressed with Oriakhi in that game; he was the big surprise for me...

Re: 18.8%
UConn did play tough defense, but Butler just flat out missed.... A LOT...
