I am going to come right out and say that I loved Charles Barkley during the NCAA Tournament.

Gus Johnson. The best. #tigerblood #winning
Reggie Miller. Single handedly makes games unwatchable. Annoying voice, just doesn't know when to shut up. Not to mention one of the most overrated players in the last 25 years...
Although to be honest Cowherd and Walton really don't annoy me that much, they get a rise out of people for their own entertainment, but whatever blowhards will be blowhards.

Not many announcers spawn a whole movement by their detractors:

Re: Annoying vs. good sports journalists/broadcasters...
I have to admit that I find Cowherd increasingly annoying. It's the way that he seems to become a bandwagon fan of teams like the Patriots, Lakers, and Yankees. I don't get it; he grew up in the northwest and went to EWU. But, other than thinking that Joey Harrington was the best thing since swiss cheese there seems to be very little that is northwest about him anymore. He also latches onto and defends players who I can't stand like A-Rod. But, if he's annoying enough to keep me listening and wondering what stupid thing he's going to say next, maybe that's the point. I guess his job is to be controversial and drive up ratings.
I think Brent Mussburger does a pretty good job broadcasting sports. He has a strong voice, and he's respectful, and I can appreciate how he's become a World Cup soccer fan in recent years... Keith Jackson is also an all time favorite of mine...even if he was a Couger. "Holy Moly!"---just classic.
No problems with Reggie Miller here, but, I prefer Mark Jackson. I try to limit how much I watch the NBA with the departure of the Sonics though...

This is a sacrilege, but I thought Dave Niehaus was too over the top with his home run calls, especially the last couple years. Screaming about a "grand salami" for a team losing 100 games annoyed me.
I find the NHL announcer Mike Emrick amazing; how he can call that action when I can barely follow it is wild. Looking forward to the playoffs.

Definitely adding Skip Bayless to the list... Actually, he´s annoyed me for a long time...and blaming Spoelstra for the Heat´s loss in the Finals? Really?
