BYU to Change Mascot
Ok, not really, but I just find this to be too funny.
Whoever is running this school district needs to have that stick removed.
Lets hope some creative UP students will have some funny, yet reasonably appropriate, cougar signs and/or chants ready for the BYU game.

Re: BYU to Change Mascot
Team mascots have a history of offending. Organizations from professional football franchises to inconspicuous elementary schools have often come under scrutiny for mascots referencing Native Americans, for example.
Canyons School Board members in Draper, Utah have rejected the “Cougars” as a high school mascot, deeming it offensive to older women. Apparently the term “cougar” has crept into English vernacular to reference an older woman who seeks romantic relationships with younger men.
To avoid any trace of offensive connotations, the school board instead selected the “Chargers” as the mascot for Corner Canyon High, set to open in 2013.
Here kitty, kitty, kitty.

Oh, and here's guessing the school board didn't go for Coyotes, either.

Re: BYU to Change Mascot
As a fan of Dave Ramsey, I find the name Chargers offensive, and demand that they change it!To avoid any trace of offensive connotations, the school board instead selected the “Chargers” as the mascot for Corner Canyon High, set to open in 2013.
