OSAA 6A Boys and Girls Basketball Tournnaments
Recap of an Oregonian article:
The OSAA is looking at other possible venues for the boys and girls Class 6A tournaments, which have been played concurrently at the Rose Garden for the past three seasons. The main options are the Memorial Coliseum, provided it is renovated, and the University of Portland’s Chiles Center, former home of the big-school girls tournament.
The Chiles Center became unavailable for the girls tournament in part because the schedule conflicted with the University of Portland’s athletic programs, but the departure of athletic director Larry Williams could signal a change of heart in the administration. The university is operating with an interim athletic director.
From Bill Reed, UP’s events director, “I can’t go down that pathway until I have my new athletic director, and I sit down with him or her and say, ‘Here’s what we’re thinking we can do,’” Reed said. “And I have to get the coaches together and say, ‘This is what we’re thinking of doing.’ Everybody’s got to get on board and everybody’s got to agree.”
With a capacity of 4,852, the Chiles Center would be a tight squeeze for the two Saturday night championship games. But it could work.

Re: OSAA 6A Boys and Girls Basketball Tournnaments
I saw this article. It would be interesting to see the boys tournaments at Chiles as well as the girls (since we used to host the girls tournament). More exposure for our program and school. Perhaps a little money as well? I don't know how all of that money stuff works. I'm sure you all have a better understanding of that.

The girls tournament was always a lot of fun when it was at the Chiles Center.
