MUST READ: Pooh Blog
Wow... this is just awesome. Thanks to CDC84 from the Zag board for spotting it:
http://www.draftexpress.com/blog/Pooh-Jeter/
Our man Pooh Jeter is writing a blog for draftexpress.com, and it's hilarious and awesome and makes me miss having him out on the Bluff. It's pretty long, but here's what he had to say about UP:
Good luck to Pooh, and I have the feeling that he will indeed suit up in the NBA at some point.

Our man Pooh Jeter is writing a blog for draftexpress.com, and it's hilarious and awesome and makes me miss having him out on the Bluff. It's pretty long, but here's what he had to say about UP:
I went to the University of Portland, and that was the best experience of my life. I finally was away from LA, and now living on my own. I grew as a person and as a basketball player while in college. My head coach in college was Michael Holton. Coach Holton was the assistant coach at UCLA before he took the job at the University of Portland.
I went to the University of Portland for 2 reasons: #1, I wanted to be a part of this rebuilding process and put U of P on the map. And #2, coach Holton was an NBA point guard and I wanted to learn about being a point guard and leader from him. I want to be an NBA point guard, so why not learn from somebody that been in the league. Ya dig?
I never had a winning season in college. My best record was 15 and 15. We were always supposed to have good seasons, but it never went our way. Individually, I was all-conference three years straight, and top five in a lot of categories in Portland history, including the #2 scorer all-time. While in Portland, I worked out with one of our assistants almost every morning before class. I wanted to win and be the best player to ever come out of Portland.
Good luck to Pooh, and I have the feeling that he will indeed suit up in the NBA at some point.

Also... did anyone else know this about Pooh's sister? WOW!
My sister Carmelita runs for the USA track team and she will be running in the Olympics next summer in the 100 meters and hopefully the 4 x4. She is currently 3rd fastest woman in the world and she isn't taking any drugs, ladies and gents.

I can remember one semester I was taking a lifting class from Ryan Cabiles at 8am, and Pooh was already in Chiles working on his shot or ball handling skills. There is no doubt he worked hard at becoming better.

Re: MUST READ: Pooh Blog
Pooh updated his blog (which is more than can be said for a certain other UP Blogger... oops!):
http://www.draftexpress.com/blog/Pooh-Jeter/
It's awesome once again, and it sounds like he really likes Kiev and that his team and him are doing really well.
It's a bit long, but well worth the read!

BUMP
Pooh updated his blog again. Sounds like he's doing well - he was named a starter for the Ukrainian League All-Star game and his team finished something like 35-5 in the Ukrainian League. They made the Sweet 16 of the European championship but lost to a Polish team in some kind of weird, soccer-like two-game aggregate series.
Anyway, it's always great to read about how he's doing!

Re: MUST READ: Pooh Blog
Pooh is always an entertaining read!
2 Thoughts:
(1) The playoff format... 2 games, and the combined scores determine who moves on. Can you imagine the implications, and how the effects the game? In the first game: no letting up at the end becuase you are ahead; the losing team may not start fouling like crazy in the last couple minutes... In the second game: If you won the first by a good margin, and were behind in the 2nd by a smaller amount, you might start fouling, slowing the game down, etc.... Wow, interesting!
(2) Pooh has a cousin named Honeybun?

If Pooh can make an NBA roster, then I'll be buying my first NBA jersey. Has anybody bought the domain name getpoohintheleague.com?

Re: MUST READ: Pooh Blog
Just an FYI, Pooh Signed today with Unicaja Malaga one of the top teams in Spain's ACB league, and a Euroleague team. Which by all accounts are the two best leagues in Europe. Was hoping he would find his way onto a roster or at least go to training camp with an NBA squad. Must have gotten a really great offer from Unicaja.

Re: MUST READ: Pooh Blog
Haha judging my his reaction on facebook and twitter, I'm sure it was a pretty generous one. He did have a couple training camp offers, I know that for a fact, but I'm sure this offer was just too good to pass up. That Unijaca roster is a pretty talented one with players like Taquan Dean (Louisville), Omar Cook (St. Johns), Joel Freedland (Former Blazer pick) and Jiri Welsch (OK so not that great an NBA player, but is recognizable)...
