Re: Uh-oh
Our annual mini-crash has been thwarted for another year. The domain name renewal request has been submitted. Geez's request to change the name to PlinyNation was declined.

And on the same day we have a new mobile version of PN....I think it's a huge improvement over the last version.....much more user friendly.

Based on your post, I gave it a try. I'm back to using the classic version on my phone.
And as always, thanks to Pilotnut for keeping this site running smoothly.

Re: Uh-oh
I am in the wilds of Montana where internet connections are sketchy at best so I am late coming to this party. Thanks Pilotnut for keeping us all connected. And Geezer for your alternate route.
DD - I remember hearing your quote from Ali, long before his time when it was attributed to Satchel Paige who was talking about fellow Negro League player Cool Papa Bell. I was curious about whether Paige made up the quote so did a little research. According to a site called "Quote Investigator":
"The earliest instance located by QI was printed in 1917 in “The Marines Magazine”, a monthly for United States Marine Corps personnel. A correspondent from Fort Mifflin, Pennsylvania using the pseudonym Hablarias employed the jape: 1
Corporal Smith is still in training and, believe me, he is some speed merchant. Here is one record he holds: It is 20 feet from the switchboard to his pile of alfalfa and he can switch off the lights and be back in bed before the room gets dark!"
So much for your trivia lesson for today.

New mobile version
I like the look of the new mobile version but there is one feature that I cannot figure out, how to jump to new posts. It tells me that there are new posts in a thread, when I select the thread I always start with post one. Has anyone figured this out that can help a "young" whipper snapper out?

Hey, I love trivia and the origin of sayings and quotes, thank you......but you must really be bored out there in the wilds of Montana to respond to a PilotNation post from 4 years ago.A_Fan wrote:I am in the wilds of Montana where internet connections are sketchy at best so I am late coming to this party. I think the gerbil fell off the wheel... I'm not sure what happened. Let's call it maintenance?
