Neither the USC nor the Pac 12 Network websites list any video for Sunday's game.

Re: USC on 9/16
Before playing the Pilots on Sunday, USC is at San Diego on Friday evening. USC is probably looking for some measure of revenge after losing to USD just 11 days ago, and to UP last year by identical scores of 2-1.
As McAlister Field holds only 1,000 fans (they average 500 per game), I'm hoping the majority of seats are taken by Pilots' fans/alums.
I started to do a roster comparison between USC and UP and stopped short when I found the USC roster has 34 players; twenty of whom are suiting up for the Trojans first time this year. Apparently USC was pretty dinged-up with injuries last year when they took more losses (7-13) than in any other year since 1993.
As UPSF pointed out, USC is 2-3-1 this year.

When I looked at USC's soccer field on Google Maps I didn't see any seats whatsoever. So that fact that it holds 1,000 is news to me.

Re: USC on 9/16
Ha hah, yea I thought that too after looking at the Google Earth view, but when I called to enquire about tickets I was told they were $7 each and that McAlister held 1,000 people........maybe it's SRO!RipCityPilot wrote:When I looked at USC's soccer field on Google Maps I didn't see any seats whatsoever. There was a season or two when they had a good seed in the tournament but their field cost them home games.

Re: USC on 9/16
we get a chance to see what USC looks like tonight (and, incidentally, San Diego) tonight at 5:00 PDT at the Toreros stadium. It is being webcast by USD so we will get to see where we play the NCAA semis and finals

Re: USC on 9/16
Isn't that the field the Pilots played on in a televised game two years ago? It was such a mess from football that it was really unplayable for soccer and the near sideline was invisible to the TV camera. The far side was so dark that you had a hard time seeing who was playing. Plus, it appeared that the far sideline was way too close to the stadium wall.

Re: USC on 9/16
As to being to close to the stadium wall, UP has the main stands 7 yards from the touch line. Both player benches are there, too.
It is actually one of the things I like about Merlo.
But I hear you on the football pitch. When the site was announced last year, that's the first thing I thought about. The pitch was unplayable, and I wondered how they could hold a National championship on it. One can only hope that the football team will play lots of road games before final four weekend.
Or maybe they will sod it.

Well, there is sod, and there is sod.
The stuff that seems to work pretty well for internationals is about twice as thick as normal sod and comes in rolls about 20' wide and tens of yards long ( whatever fits on a semi) It was used for the UEFA cup last year in the Ukraine, and I don't think anybody even commented on it.
If does cost a bit — maybe 30-40K not including transportation. I think the last time it was used here was for the WWC semis in 2003 at PGE park. Before that, a USA- Costa Rica men's qualifier. It didn't seem to be an issue.

USD 1, USC 0at about 25 minutes into the game.
a little against the run of play, but neither team has contol of the match.
very little sign of pointy ball marks or wear on the pitch.

Hard to see anything other than the bar on the screen that shows the score...

"Street Parking Available" means they don't have a parking lot so you will have to park on the street somewhere in the neighborhood. I think we searched a little for a parking space but it didn't take too long.
The time we were there, we played UCLA Friday night @ UCLA. Kelsey Davis got concussed in the game and Hailee DeYoung replaced her. Hailee also played the USC game. The USC men's water polo team came to the game and started giving Hailee a hard time, asking her questions about Draper, Utah. Hailee's Dad was there. He moved next to the water polo guys and gave them a Chamber of Commerce description of Draper, also letting them know he was her Dad. The guys actually liked it and stopped giving her a hard time. Apart from that, it was a dismal soccer weekend.
But, as a side trip we went to see the La Brea Tar Pits. If you haven't seen them and have time, it is an absolute must. We also rented bikes and rode along the beach, which was great fun.

How did you get your tickets? When I logged onto the USD website, their was a message requiring a special code-

I'm pretty sure DD was buying tickets for tommorrow's USC match at USC, not tickets for the NCAA College Cup at USD.
The College Cup will certainly be more than 7 bucks a pop.

I noticed that USD plays Cal St Northridge, USC and Pepperdine twice this season.
Any thoughts on why USD has a hard time filing their schedule?

It looks to me like USD has no problem at all filling it's schedule.
Teams Apparently want to play them as often as possible.
