Nickname for Hannibal (And Ito)
OK, so since this kid is hopefully going to be our starting center for the next four years, we really need to come up with a good nickname for him. I mean... his name is just too good to not have a nickname.
There are all kinds of different permutations of involving the word cannibal, I suppose...
Or we could go a bit esoteric and along the Hannibal the Carthegenian crossing the Alps with his elephants during the Punic Wars.
I've also heard some people call him "The Deuce"... that could work.
Oh, and could it just be agreed upon that "The Judge" is Ito's nickname. I mean... Judge Ito, ruling the court... it's perfect. Couldn't you just see a promotion with one of those bleachers behind the hoop called "Ito's Courtroom" or something like that? It's just too perfect.

Re: Nickname for Hannibal (And Ito)
Stonehouse, you've done it again.... From the creative genius of the Kim Cam, Wallet and the infamous Hot Karl... Judge is just too fitting... now we just need to get lance ito masks and black robes with large "P"s on them or something like that
As for Hannibal... Straight jackets and face mask's might be a bit on the morbid side... but if we could have him ride in on an elephant before games... that would pretty much be awesome

HA!!! Oh DaTruRochin... I'm blushing. Actually, I really can't take credit for the genius of the Kim Cam - Rochin54 and Houle4Three were in on that as well. Actually, Houle4Three was there for Wallet too. Why hasn't he registered yet? Hmm.... I think a phone call is in order.

Too bad I can't find a picture of the one and only Kyle Stonehouse. I might have to scan an old media guide or something.
The picture of Coky in the Mexican jersey is pretty amazing though.
Rochin... what's the light house? Is it supposed to be a dramatic representation of The Beacon, the finest little college paper out there? Because if it is, I will take that as a tribute, myself having written many an article for that wonderful publication! In fact, one of my articles is still hanging in the Tavern on Denver, right by the shuffleboard table. I get a bit teary just thinking about it.

Re: Nickname for Hannibal (And Ito)
The key to finding a good Coky picture is looking him up under the name Jorge Rochin... And the rest is history
As for Kyle Stonehouse... yeah its pretty amazing when an oregonlive forums profile is the 3rd link down when you google it....

Coky looks fit as heck...
the pic is of Tillamook Rock Lighthouse between cannon beach and seaside. Spent many a day fishing near the rock. Just a cool picture to see the waves actually breaking over the top of the rock, which I blieve is about 230 feet (that number jumps out at me, but don't really know how high it is above the water line).

Re: Nickname for Hannibal (And Ito)
ooh--- Jorge Gaston Rochin Robles NICE!
His Bio has him listed at 235. He used to eat hamburgers bigger than that.
Nice to see he's still doing well. Now playing PF for the Mayas WBA team in Dallas, and still apparently plays for Mexico.
The lighthouse tower is 62ft, which might give you an idea of the total height.

Might I suggest a "Silence of the Zags" theme when Gonzaga is in town? We'll need to ensure that Hannibal is in the starting lineup, of course. Playing into that theme, whenever he shoots the whole crowd should yell "PUT THE LOTION IN THE BASKET!"

Re: Nickname for Hannibal (And Ito)
If it is true, chalk me up as EXTREMELY excited!
That's another great nickname... "Costco" Kirkwood. It began as a bastardization of the Kirkland Signature brand name... it was made even funnier by the fact that he actually did indeed start working at Costco.
Go Nick Kirkwood!
Speaking of former players... check out this article on Porter Troupe:

Sounds like he's doing well.

Sadly, it is not the real Costco Kirkwood. Actually I hope I'm not doing anything illegal by using his likeness/name...hmm...maybe I better change this up a little bit....
