WCC media day?

I haven't heard anything about a WCC men's basketball media day this year. What happened?

Yes, the second annual "Basketball Tip-off" is Monday at 11:30.

University of Portland will be represented at the event by head coach Eric Reveno and junior forward Ryan Nicholas.

The 2012-13 West Coast Conference Men’s Basketball preseason poll and all-conference team will be announced that day as well.

Each WCC coach and selected student-athlete will take part in a live video interview in which fans can submit questions via Twitter and Facebook. Hosted by Barry Tompkins, the video interviews will be streamed live on both YouTube.com and WCCsports.com.

Coaches and student-athletes will also sit down with Jeff Lampe, host of the popular WCC Live Internet talk show to preview their team’s season. The special edition of WCC Live will air live beginning at Noon PDT.

There clearly needs to be a question about getting Pliny in the Pilot Club.

No surprises from the WCC Media Day.....the coaches poll has the Pilots 8th, and no Pilots players were selected to the preseason All-WCC Team:

It is now up to the Pilots to provide the surprises.....

No expectations, that's ok with me. I honestly think Ryan lands on the All-Conference team; he's a gritty leader who's likely to put up close to a double-double average and guide this team. That's an immensely valuable player. Not to mention he's gonna hit the occasional outside shot, too. At the media day today he said his most improved aspect was his outside game (some insightful fan asked the question - can't remember who).
