"El-mo. We won't go!"
The twist on a popular protest chant echoed Saturday as people marched in the so-called Million Puppet March in Washington to support PBS and protest potential cuts in funding.

Re: Just doing my bit
While it’s true the rights to Kermit the Frog are “owned” by the Walt Disney Company, in his childhood adventures, chronicled in the 2002 video Kermit’s Swamp Years, Kermit talked about growing up with thousands of siblings who still reside at the Sesame Workshop.
Frank Oz, a high school classmate of mine, originated and still “handles” the famous Miss Piggy. And as we all know, Miss Piggy insists that she and Kermit got married in The Muppets take Manhattan and they too are living very happily together at Sesame Workshop.
The Walt Disney Company and Kermit disagree with this, claiming that it was just a movie and that in real life; Kermit and Miss Piggy have a "professional relationship" (meaning he thinks they're professionals and she thinks they're in a relationship).
Bottom Line: it’s too bad kid (and adult) fun has to be caught up in politics (too).

Re: Just doing my bit
Ha, ha. One byproduct of lots of traveling and living a long time is getting to know lots of people. But I’ve known Frank Oznowicz, now Frank Oz, since our six years of middle school and high school together. Some might have considered Frank a bit “odd” as there really weren’t too many of us who were geeky puppeteers or magicians….but look who got the last laugh!up7587 wrote:Huh, so Kermit and Miss Piggy's marriage is kayfabe. Just saw newlywed Frank in July…..he’s still as odd as ever, but quite a success in his profession having directed a few Hollywood movies. He’s got a wonderful wife; apparently she doesn’t mind sharing Frank with Miss Piggy, Fozzie Bear, Cookie Monster, Bert and Grover, and of course Yoda.
