Women knock off Boise State 84-80

Pretty good game overall. Women still need to finish a little better, but they did a good job. Next up: Oregon on Sunday.

Good to hear; they seem to have improved. Like the men, they have a good young core that should contribute for a while. Hope you weren't a nervous wreck 'cuz of the soccer game. But at least you made some money!

Just checked the box score: 21 for Dollente, 14 for Morris, 12 pts 8 rebs for Warren. Good to see Dollente scoring like she did last year.

How was the attendance? Hopefully it wasn't affected too badly by the women's soccer match.

Official box score says attendance was 119, but it's not that unusual for a women's game, soccer or no. For our other home games: Concordia 129, UT St. 189, PSU 260, Northridge 133. UO on Sunday should up the average though. Even during their run in the mid-90s they didn't draw that many, except for the time Tennessee came and the Chiles Center was packed.

I remember attendance being pretty decent when they played the Gonzaga games as a women's/men's doubleheader. As a kid, I always liked to come early and watch the women play.

They used to actually beat the Zags.

Attendance was...usual.

Our running joke is that at the beginning, the band is bigger than the crowd.

Look at the banners next game. The women actually beat everybody. I remeber the bottom 3 names on their HOF banner--Amy Claboe, Laura Sale, Deana Lansing--very well. Sale, in particular, was one of my all-time favorite Pilots, men or women. I went to lots of women's games as a kid, and I actually like watching it--a little more finesse and team play involved.

And the womens' games pay just as much as mens' games!
