Pilots vs. Oregon Friday December 21 at NOON!
UPDATE: With the Christmas break coming up, and everyone wanting to head home to be with their family, the Pilots vs UO game on Friday is at NOON!!
So get a little work in, take your kids to what should be a very good game, then go out and finish your holiday shopping.
A win over a Pac-12 team will really give the young Pilots team a boost heading into WCC play; they could really use your kid's noisy help!

Terrific. Great planning.
I'll be sure to be there with my 93 year old MIL, the wife and her two sisters who are flying in, and their significant others.
Or not....

Totally.
I hope nobody was coming to see the band because I hate to disappoint you, but most of the students are back home and most of the community players have day jobs.

Re: Pilots vs. Oregon Friday December 21 at NOON!
Reminder: the Pilots vs. Ducks game is at NOON tomorrow in the Chiles Center.
Although the Pilots have never beaten the Ducks in Eugene, they are 4-8 lifetime at home. Last year UO won in Eugene 88-78, so this should be the Pilots turn.
The Pilots have been good as of late, having won their last three games after opening the season with losses in seven of their first eight contests.
The Ducks have registered back-to-back home wins, beginning with last Sunday’s 65-64 victory over Fresno State followed by UO’s 72-61 triumph over Samford this past Tuesday night, but Oregon has been even harder hit by injuries than the Pilots.
It would appear Oregon is now limited to a nine-player rotation and is playing without as many as three or four players who have starting experience as they close out the non-conference portion of the schedule.
The one healthy Duck that could return against UP is three-sport standout Liz Brenner (volleyball/basketball/softball), a sophomore who played in 21 games and started eight contests for UO a year ago. Liz just wrapped up her season with the Ducks’ volleyball team in the NCAA Championship game last Saturday and could see action tomorrow.

If you're not at the Chiles Center right now you're missing an excellent game!
Pilots up 45-35 at the half after being down big earlier.
The place is rockin'.

Wow!
dominant win 68-49 over the quackers.
19 assists, 10 turnovers, and 16 steals in pretty good stats to hang a win on.

.....and go into the Christmas break on a four game winning streak. Most of the ladies now head to the airport and home with family for the holidays....and they deserve the break for all the hard work they have put in.PurpleGeezer wrote:Wow!

The teamwork and energy that is being shown by this group right now is really fun to watch...I don't recall seeing such a young team work so well together.
With zero seniors on the squad, and only two juniors suiting up this year, the future is bright.

The focus on defense was really noticeable to me. Quickly getting pressure on the ball, hands out, lots of deflections and intercepted passes. Looks like the team is turning things around at the right time, heading into WCC games.PurpleGeezer wrote:Wow!

Re: Pilots vs. Oregon Friday December 21 at NOON!
Haha, yea I think all the energy the Pilots put into their defense in the second half really affected their legs and they didn't hit their shots too well, but they LIMITED THE DUCKS TO ONLY THREE POINTS IN THE LAST 12:30.....that is GREAT defense.PurplePrideTrumpet wrote:The focus on defense was really noticeable to me. Lest we underestimate the Pilots win, that is the 5th win over the Ducks against 24 losses, according to the Duck athletic site story. A big win. Let's hope the run of four wins is not the competition being weak but the Pilots coming into their own.
Go Pilots.

Yep, the Pilots are now 5-8 all-time against UO at the Chiles Center! Next year the Pilots finally win in Eugene after starting out 0-24.wrv wrote:Lest we underestimate the Pilots win, that is the 5th win over the Ducks against 24 losses, according to the Duck athletic site story.
