Wishful thinking?
Do we win the USD game with Kevin? Also, one wonders how much the injury affected his play during the UTPA game (28 mins 3-14, 0-3 3 pt, 8 pts). Oskars was out that game as well. Should we beat UTPA anyways? Yes.
If we won those 2 games would we be talking about the "state of the program".
It seemed to me Kevin had turned the corner after the UNLV/UK games. Perhaps he learned something in those games or something just finally clicked, but he had 3 games where he really produced. And even on the night he had an off night was 4-11 from the field he scored from the line instead. Admittedly it's a 3 game sample and one of the games was Portland Bible, but I thought he was finally turning into the player we expected a bit sooner.
Kevins stats for pre-injury games
UNF 33 min 9-13, 3-4 3 pt, 27 pts
CSB 4-11, 0-2 3 pt, 10-12 FT, 18 pts
Portland Bible 25 mins, 8-9, 2-3, 4-4, 22 pts
UK 28 mins, 4-14, 1-4, 2-2, 11 pts
UNLV 21 mins, 1-6, 0-1, 0-0, 2 pts
etc. prior games better than UK/UNLV, but not as good as after.

Re: Wishful thinking?
Bailey is at his best in the open court. He's an uptempo, transition type player. The coaching staff was seemingly doing a better job of finding ways to balance his style of play yet still create opportunities for the bigs that play best when we walk the ball up and play a half court game. I hope he has a speedy recovery because last night's game showed how difficult it is for us to create opportunities for our bigs when he's not in the line up.
