Ducks get it done in OT.
Gonzaga lost to K State by 10 earlier today.
Guess which two WCC teams won away from home today?

Re: South Point Holiday Hoops Classic -- Friday and Saturday
8-4 feels sooo much better than 7-5 heading into conference play.
Interesting day in the WCC. Gonzaga lost at Kansas St. BYU lost in OT at Oregon. But the other teams, Pepperdine, USD, LMU, Pacific and UP all won. Overall, the conference is 80-35. SMC leads at SF and SCU are both 6-5.
Sam Dower was hurt in the GU game. Landed on his back hard. Not clear if he will miss any games.

Home win over ranked St Mary's would be Rev's best one, right?
Brilliant win for the fellas tonight. Looking forward to seeing some reaction on here from people that were there or watched the choppy video feed!

Fantastic execution by the Pilots, playing strong for 40 minutes. Even when Princeton made their run, the Pilots remained composed and responded with our own run... The last couple years, we would have folded up shop.
Off to the pai gow tables...

We need to make sure Bryce’s parents attend all his games....

They beat SMC at home in 09 and 10, and both those Gaels teams were very good. In 09 SMC lost Patty Mills to injury during the GU game, two days before playing Portland, and had a case for an at-large bid but went to the NIT. The next season they were in the Sweet 16.

I think you're both correct.DeanMurdoch wrote:Home win over ranked St Mary's would be Rev's best one, right?
Minnesota was his biggest win for recruiting and establishing his and the Pilots name nationally. The SMC win at home had to be his and the team's biggest blowout against a top team....Bennett was just plain outcoached, and the Gael were outplayed.......that doesn't happen very often.
Tonight's win was also very big because it lets recruits and coaches on the East Coast know UP is capable of beating some very good teams. I'm not sure if the people in Denton and Bozeman noticed...
I'd like someone to ask him that question on the Monday night Coaches Show.

In a end times augury, the O has an article on the Pilots.
http://www.oregonlive.com/pilots/index.ssf/2013/12/portland_93_princeton_79_ryan.html?utm_source=dlvr.it&utm_medium=twitter
I wonder if it will make it to cellulose?

False alarm. I presume the "author" is the person who copied and pasted from the SID's writeup.

Ok, maybe it is a cut and paste job, but that's better than we got when we beat PSU....
Baby steps.

Well, because "her" article is plagiarized, word-for-word, from the UP press release. That's how.DoubleDipper wrote: Jen Beyrle says the story is hers....how can anyone not believe her?

Great performance tonight! Really makes those home losses to North Texas and Montana State sting, though. Can't help but think we should be 10-2.
Maybe Pressley is the three-point threat we've been waiting for!

Not so! I ran the two articles through the plagiarism website copyscape
http://www.copyscape.com/compare.php
Only 515 of 517 words matched! Clearly Jen did some innovative reporting on her own.

Re: South Point Holiday Hoops Classic -- Friday and Saturday
The sacbee did an article.
Princeton May be 5-4 against the WCC, but they are winless against UP all time. And UP is 2-0 against the Ivy League this year and ups it's record against the ivys to 7-2 all time.
LAS VEGAS -- Bryce Pressley scored a career-high 25 points and Kevin Bailey added 21 as Portland knocked off Princeton, 93-79 in the finale of the Holiday Hoops Classic Saturday night.
The Pilots (8-4) took a 41-36 lead after the first half and extended it through the second to cap a two-game sweep in Las Vegas after knocking off Bradley Friday night.
Despite suffering its second loss in 11 games, Princeton is off to its best start since the 1997-98 season and would have matched that team's 10-1 start with a win. The Tigers now are 5-4 all-time against teams from the West Coast Conference after knocking off Pacific Friday.
Pressley is the son of former NBA Harold Pressley, who helped Villanova win the NCAA title in 1986. His previous career high was 10 points. Bailey surpassed 20 points for the fifth time this season.
T.J. Bray led Princeton with 25 points.

Re: South Point Holiday Hoops Classic -- Friday and Saturday
Jill has my permission to plagiarize after every Pilot win. In the spirit of Christmas, let’s forgive her indiscretion and lack of journalistic standards(actually I suspect it is the O and not her insisting on a byline).
Bryce Pressly plays like this often and we may be looking at an upper division finish. I have a feeling those intellects at Princeton weren’t closing down on him fast enough. Still, quite the performance and a good sign going forward.
Go Pilots.

That was a great win over a very skilled team. Congratulations to all the players especially Bryce who was named MVP and Ryan who was an All Tournament selection.
It's nice to see different guys stepping up as the team heads into conference play. This could be a fun first five games at home despite the lack of students.
Merry Christmas to everyone!

10 votes for the Pilots in today's Mid Major Top 25, but they're still well back of being ranked in the poll (#25 Mercer had 71 votes).
Surprisingly, Princeton only fell two spots to #9.

Yeah, but real time RPI projects us as a one point win over Gonzaga and BYU and has us winning over four of the next five teams.

Not saying it will happen, but #youdidn'tseethatcoming.

WWWLLLWLWLLLWWLLLL = 9-9 (projected record is based on cumulative probabilities of winning
each game and may not equal the sum of individual game predictions).
