Well, women have the prerogative of changing their mind as often as they want, but when I spoke with Erin in December, before finals, she said she was, "Done."  

But just today, for the first time since returning from Nebraska, she was having balls shot at her while guarding the net....so who knows, but I assumed she was just helping her teammates get the kinks out.

Amanda goes to Seattle as the #7 pick in the draft!!

( a little bummed it's not the thorns, but hey! We still will see a lot of her. She gets reunited with a whole pack of Pilots)

Thorns trade Nikki Washington and the second round pick to get back Mana Shim.

Good move. A little expensive.

I don't know ... Nikki was a complete bust so far as I was concerned and there's a good possibility she'll never amount to much, so I look it as a second round pick for Mana. I think that's a pretty good price.

I'm still bummed about the draft -- If the Thorns hadn't had to let Marshall go so she could test the market, the team still would have Dani and could have drafted Amanda too. As the Geez said, grrr.

And the thorns round out their draft with Elisabeth Sullivan.

Essentially a trade for Weimer.

Now we have to figure out how to get Cruz in the league. Not playing this year hurt, no doubt.

Portland had two players drafted. The SEC, composed of 12 teams, had two players drafted.

The WCC had 6 players drafted. The Pac-12 and the SEC combined had 5 players drafted

With regards to Cruz, some of the teams, if not all, will be holding try-outs.

I agree with UPSF that Nikki was a bust and am super excited to see Shim return. All of the other moves fit the direction the coaches say they want to go...even if I don't want certain players gone. If the coaches will now allow the shot feed to go to someone other than Alex, maybe they will do well again this year.
