SNOWPOCALYPSE!
Snowpocalypse - day three.
The saints who deliver my NYT actually made it through the snow with papers from yesterday and today. But they decided to goof with me by throwing it just off the porch.
Went down to get it and fell, slid off the porch, down the driveway, and onto the sidewalk. The crawl back up the ice was pretty comical.
Don't go out with smooth soled slippers, folks!
Ran out of coffee and will be trudging the four blocks to Starbucks.
Reading "The Cremation of Sam McGee" for prep.

Hahahah, learned that on day one to Mrs. DD's amusement.PurpleGeezer wrote:Don't go out with smooth soled slippers, folks!
We're stocked-up on coffee here and already have the barbeque fired up for cooking when the power goes out from the expected ice later today.
The nephews think it's great:

The coffee run should be a piece of cake. Somebody already marked the trail.
Just to be safe, where is my bivvi bag?

I'm sure the weather people know how much has fallen officially, but a couple of hours ago, before getting some water out to the birds, this is what their bath looked like:DeanMurdoch wrote:How much did you guys get over there?

A couple winters in New England and you're an expert on getting around in the snow
I'm sure most of you have already seen this, but if not, it worth a watch or two:

Re: SNOWPOCALYPSE!
I agree with Chelsea:
I think it shows we've all been inside too long when we show such an interest in the story of a fallen jogger, from NEW YORK CITY!!I consider a slow, hungover shuffle to get a fried egg sandwich from the nearest bodega a run. Small triumphs, man.

It's better than watching yet another TV reporter standing in Troutdale or Sylvan telling us it is cold.

For those who haven't been on campus for awhile, this is the Academic Quad over a 20 hour period......the music may be a little dramatic for the event, but it's good!

Re: SNOWPOCALYPSE!
I expected to see Brunhilde galloping across the quad!
Nice. How did they clear the path across so quickly? It was a flash in the time lapse.

Re: SNOWPOCALYPSE!
Ha-ha, did you notice the snowmanwoman being built just beyond the path....I think it was started around the 1:15 point in the video, but you might have to go to full screen to see it.up7587 wrote:I expected to see Brunhilde galloping across the quad!

Well, I mean I had to figure it out since there was no Charlie to drive me around in an old suburban....
