MBB budgets
Budgets for the P12, MCW, and WCC.

Interesting that the bottom of the WCC is outspending the bottom of the MWC.

Re: MBB budgets
Not sure where they got their numbers, but it apparently includes scholarships, which for UP is around $625K for 13 scholarships and is certainly less for state schools
Using the equity in athletics database, gonzaga's $6,138, 269 for just basketball is getting darn close to UPs reported $6,856,188 for the entire athletic department budget for 13 sports.
It would be an interesting cost analysis per win.

Re: MBB budgets
Total Budget $2,127,678
scholarships $ 625,000 (geez's number)
Rev's Comp $ 455,000 (form 990)
Balance $1,047,678
Do some math on assistant coaches and travel expenses, and you can see there isn't room for much else.
To me, this is the biggest obstacle for small programs like ours. There just isn't the money to do the things you want.

Re: MBB budgets
Well, the EADA shows about $390K in team expenses for 13 players, but it shows a somewhat higher total cost of the program than the above links.
And Gonzaga has expenses of $1,331,000 for 15 players.
The site is fun to check, but you have to be a bit careful about what information you think you are getting. Anyway, here is Gonzaga's

And Portland's:

I find it interesting that UP has about a million more in expenses for scholarships and financial aid for athletes.
Basketball Men's-$2,562,899 Women's $1,239,564 total- $3,802,463
