The Oregonian's Prep All-State Soccer Teams
Here is the link to this morning's Oregonian Prep All-State Soccer Teams: (However, I can only find the articles written about both the girl's and boy's top players. The actual lists of players I can't locate. Perhaps someone with better sleuthing skills can find those lists and post them on this thread.)

Here is a quote about Lincoln's Kendall Johnson and her possible college choices: (Kendall is the Oregonian's 2007 Class 6A Player of the Year.)
Also on the Class 6A All-State first team are 2009 Pilots recruit Taylor Brooke of West Linn, and the much discussed 2006 POY Courtney Verloo.

Johnson has taken college visits to Penn State and Santa Clara and also is being pursued by the University of Portland, among others.

Re: The Oregonian's Prep All-State Soccer Teams
Thanks for doin' the deed, KFTC.
I just noticed something quite ridiculous as I was perusing the lists above. The first team lists 12 players with one GK included and the second team lists 11 players with one GK. However, (and get this!), on the first team there are five forwards listed, four MF's, the one GK and only TWO defensive players!!!
Why stop now, this is getting fun! The second team has, count 'em, SEVEN forwards listed, three MF's, the one GK and 0 defenders.
So that means that of the 23 best Class 6A girls soccer players in the state of Oregon, only 2 defenders are worthy of first or second team All-State honors by vote of the state's coaches, from nominations by league representatives.
I am speechless!!! (And yes, that IS a rare occurance.)

Re: The Oregonian's Prep All-State Soccer Teams
Read my post on the Recruiting Update topic. My post is on the the 3rd page, dated Nov 13.
I saw Kendall play the last 3 tournament games last fall. I was quite impressed by her. She is a solid, skilled player who runs the Lincoln (state champs) offense. She is aggressive on both sides of the ball. She plays a much bigger role, all over the field, in the Lincoln game than Verloo does in the Tualatin game. She doesn't appear to be as fast as Verloo and may not have all the offensive moves, but she is a solid, complete player and I hope she selects UP.
