Seems like so many tight games and buzzer beaters have been in favour of the wrong team over the last couple seasons - great to see them not only win tonight, but overcome a late deficit to do it!
Great start to WCC play...and as pointed out, still room for improvement!

Hmm, well according to West Coast Convo writer Mark Kramer:NoPoNeighbor wrote:Well, since we're commenting on everything in the GIF of the last play... most notable reaction to me is K. Bailey on the end of the bench: zero reaction. Wonder what's going on there.
FanSidedSenior Kevin Bailey returned to the lineup in a big way with 11 points. He had missed the past four games as he battles plantar fasciitis.
The article also states:
Any Pilots fan know the Pilots lost both games to USD last year, each by 2 points. These two teams have played to one score outcomes in their last three games. Last year they each won by two points on the road against each other.
If someone is going write something for the World Weird Web it should at least be accurate....it's not like the author couldn't check-out PilotNation before misrepresenting the facts.

NoPoNeighbor wrote:Did you watch the game, or look at the box score? Pressley was 3-12 shooting, including several missed lay-ups, and was 1-4 on three-pointers (including one miss that didn't even hit the rim). Despite his good performance against Montana State last week, he definitely does not seem to be "back."newpilotfan wrote:It appears that Bryce Pressley is back. He's shooting the ball with confidence.
Less about points. I was looking at his body language, his willingness to shoot the ball, his overall confidence. He was asked at do a lot today with Wintering in foul trouble. I thought he did a good job of controlling the offense and was still aggressive. I like him taking 12 shots a game. It keeps the defense honest and I'm confident he'll get more of those to drop in future games.

Re: Pilots @ USD Saturday @ 6
After reviewing the game in its entirety this morning...knowing the result made it a lot easier to watch...a few things stood out.
1. The MVP was Voldy. While others seemed to have their feet in concrete at times, Voldy was very active and the most instrumental in bringing the Pilots back from another road defeat to victory.
2. D'Marquez is quickly becoming a weapon on offense, and his defense has improved exponentially since his first D1 game. His first half play kept the Pilots from being blown out early.
3. Jason's steals and rebounds in the first half were the other important key in keeping USD from scoring and led to Pilots baskets that gave them the half time lead.
4. Gabe was hurt, but it appeared to be a nose or lip, nothing that would keep him out of the game. In the few minutes he played he seemed rattled by the pressure and turned the ball over twice, but only once officially.
5. We know Thomas and Riley are capable of much more than they displayed against USD. Last year each of them had one bad game against USD, but not both on the same night....last year UP lost both games.
6. As ugly as that game was, it had to give the team some confidence knowing they are capable of so much more, but still walking away with a W. The coaching staff, on the other hand, probably just shook their collective heads and started focusing on BYU.

Coach basically said the same things we did. A road win when you play poorly is a good thing.
Coaches sleep better, too.Coach Rev wrote:Meals taste better after a win.
